I have been using a 400 w HPS/MH light in each 3'x3' box/tent for well over 10ys and have been more than happy with my results. I was looking into switching to T5's when out of nowhere one of my ballast crapped out. Having to do something quickly and seeing as the cost of a new ballast was more than this fixture with bulbs so I decided to try it out in one room and compare it to the HPS/MH in the other. I did pick up some bloom bulbs as well to make things as even as possible.
So I am about 4 weeks into bloom (put the 8 bulb T5 fixture in on week 2 of bloom) and so far things are looking great...both rooms are about even..
Now to the fixture...it is a very nice fixture and surprising light but not "Cheap" feeling at all...it has a very low profile so in shorter rooms you can get more height adjustments being about to get it closer to the ceiling ...the also run very cool. you can hold you hand on the bulbs as long as you'd like. this makes for easy to control temp in the room...also the 8 light fixture has two switches controlling 4 bulbs each which is also nice for obvious reasons,
All in all this gets 5 stars so far and I like it so much I picked up another on and will be running these in both rooms . This is a fantastic deal for the price. I think it is actually nicer than most fixtures I have seen at 3 times the cost in some cases....
